Stories From Our Parents
The Peleg Family
“Moving to a new country is exciting yet challenging. We were lucky to arrive to New Zealand, and in particular to beautiful Leigh. We fell in love with Leigh- the scenery, the nature and the lovely community. These all represent also the Leigh Community Preschool. A beautiful preschool, with happy kids, learning values such as appreciation, kindness and respect. Tommy, was just about to turn 3 years old when we arrived. With the language barrier and the new cross-world adventure, we were a bit scared. But, it didn’t last long. From the moment we got into preschool, the lovely team made us feel safe and welcome. With a mixture of kids from all over the world, it was amazing to see that the team communicate with the kids in the most essential and universal language - love and care. Preschool was not only a pleasure for Tommy, but also for us. We got to meet many members of the community, and we were happy to take part and contribute to the community and the preschool. We felt as if we were all growing together. Tommy is now at school, he had a smooth transfer across the road. He is a happy and confident kid that respects his surroundings - human and nature. We are so lucky that Tommy spent the very important years that have lots of impact on a kid’s character at Leigh Community Preschool.”

The Blain Family
“We have had our son enrolled at Leigh Preschool for two years and are overjoyed by the environment which they provide and continually develop for the children. Even from a young age (6 months), the amazing and caring teachers have provided us with the utmost sense of security. Leigh Community Preschool is a great learning environment for our inventive and curious boy; the independent play areas help challenge his emerging skills, enrich his curiosity and provide confidence through example and play among other children. It is an absolute joy to see the strong relationships our son has developed with his peers and teachers over the years and the mutual respect that is shared by all. We feel it is these relationships that have helped to foster our son’s enthusiasm and confidence. We also greatly value the strong connection the preschool maintains to nature and the outdoors. In addition to learning respect for others, our son is developing a profound respect for his natural surroundings and a keen sense of self. We couldn’t ask for a better place for our son to grow and develop!”

The Brebner Family
“I am a mother of 4 and have been a parent at Leigh Community Preschool since 2013. In this time I have had the pleasure of seeing such true development evolve between teacher and child.
The preschool continues to blossom and you can rest assured your children are in the most nurturing and capable of hands. The staff are second to none and the preschool allows for true growth of one’s own spirit, in nature.”
