Outside Play

Our large outdoor play space allows children to be outside in nature, rain or shine, for most of the day in a rich environment that calms the senses and allows our tamariki to learn and explore.

Big Body Play: bikes,
swings, slides & structures

Our children have plenty of room to let off steam and hone their gross motor skills through big body outdoor play on our play structures. Many of our outdoor play experiences can be moved, reconfigured and rebuilt by the children to create endless variations of open-ended play.

Messy play: we get wet, sandy, muddy, painty, and covered with goop

Our huge sandpit, rainwater river and messy activities give children the opportunity to learn through tactile experiences and hands-on materials that help children form theories about their world. We introduce opportunities for creation, self-expression and communication through the invitation of our daily activities which often take place outside.

Nature is a teacher: our children grow with our gardens and the seasons.

Our children are always close to nature, experiencing and learning from the natural world around them grounded in the calming sensory experiences that nature provides. From planting flowers and finding worms to adopting spring lambs, learning in nature is what we do under the sun glinting off the Pacific ocean, and in the rain too.

Imaginations run wild: a space for storytelling, make believe and magic

Our garden is rich with opportunity to imagine, from the magical touches in our gardens to the rich imaginary moments in our wendy house, our spaces invite narratives, storytelling and reading.

Go explore inside.
